Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The location was beautiful with lovely grounds, but some unpleasant noise disturbances affected my stay. The service was friendly yet lacked consideration at times. The dining options were expansive but fell short of expectations. Overall, a reasonable stay with some room for improvement.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand, the rooms were quite terrible, especially those facing the scruffy back of the property, but on the other hand, the friendly and attentive staff made my stay more pleasant. The location, while beautiful and historic, had its drawbacks, and the dining experience left much to be desired.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were clean, warm, and spacious, yet showing signs of damp and in need of some refurbishment. The service was exceptional with staff going out of their way to ensure our comfort, but the dining experience fell short with poor service and lack of attention to detail. The location was fantastic, offering a peaceful setting amid natural beauty, even though it appeared a bit unkempt. Overall, a decent stay with room for improvement.
Arriving at the hotel was a bit off-putting as the room felt cold and damp, probably due to it being in a newer extension. However, the plumbing and other issues took away from the experience. On a positive note, the staff were lovely and helpful throughout my stay, and the beautiful location provided a peaceful setting for walks.
I was excited for a stay in what was supposed to be a Superior room, but to my disappointment, it was no better than our daughter's Standard room. The room smelled damp and mildewy, which made it difficult to enjoy. The strong cigarette smell was a real put-off. The room definitely needs some attention and care; new pillows are desperately required, and a full deep clean is long overdue.
